The following article will take you through the steps on how to setup your Sophos SSL VPN client on your workstation and how to connect to it once installed.
Step 1
Navigate to the Sophos Firewall by opening your internet browser and type in the URL provided by the administrator in the URL field. Then fill in the open fields with the username and password also provided by your administrator and then keep in mind when entering the CAPTCHA code that it is case sensitive. After that you can click on “login”
Step 2
Once logged in successfully, navigate to the VPN tab. Windows users will be able to download both the client and configuration in one download by selecting “Download client and configuration for Windows”. MacOS users will have to do it in 2 separate downloads by selecting “Download client for macOS” first and then “Download configuration for other OSs”. MacOS users should install the files in the same order they downloaded it.
Step 3
Navigate to the directory where you downloaded the installation files on your workstation and start the installation by double clicking on the files with your cursor.
3.1 Click on “Next >”
3.2 Click on “I Agree”
3.3 Click on “Install”
3.4 Click on “Next >”
3.5 Click on “Finish”
Step 4
This step will take you trough the process connecting to the VPN using the VPN client downloaded in the previous steps.
Once located right click on it and click on “Connect
4.1 navigate t your taskbar and look for the logo icon underlined with an orange pen in the picture below. Once located right click on it and click on “Connect”.
4.2 . Once you clicked on “Connect” a username and password prompt will appear on your screen. Enter the username and password in the open fields provided by your administrator and click on “OK”.
4.3 The client will go through a process establishing a connection with the VPN server. Once the process is successful a prompt will come up and the VPN client icon will turn green.
