Below outlines the steps to take and what to expect upon deployment of ESET Full Disk Encryption in your organization.
Step 1
Click on "Restart now" once all work has been saved on your device.
Step 2
Once your device is rebooted, you will receive the below prompt asking for an additional reboot. The initial restart is to prepare the software and the subsequent restart will configure the encryption.
Step 3
Once your PC has completed the second reboot, you will be met with the below screen; this is an indication that ESET Full Disk Encryption will begin. Hit any button to continue.
Your device will begin booting with the below logo to indicate that ESET Full Disk Encryption has been loaded
Step 4
Upon your first login to your device, you will be prompted by ESET Full Disk Encryption to create a password. Please note that forgetting this password will render your device unusable until Service Desk has been contacted. Please also note that this password is not linked to your device login password, it is a different password entirely.
Please make sure the password is confirmed and entered correctly. The password requirements are indicated below the password fields.
Once the password has been entered and confirmed, ESET will begin encrypting your device’s drive. The duration may depend on the amount of space used on the device.
To view the progress of the encryption; please look for the ESET icon in your notification area as below and double click it.
Click on Setup on the left side and then a % bar will be displayed with the progress:
Please wait for the encryption to fully complete before powering off or putting your device to sleep.
Upon starting up your device after the encryption has been enabled, you will be prompted for your encryption password as set earlier, enter it and click Login.
